Standards are set by institutions. Partnerships must strengthen them.

01 — Institution types

Who we intend to work with

Training for naval and maritime workforces draws on many kinds of institution. Each programme uses only those the government concerned has authorised.
  • 01

    Naval academies

Officer and sailor training delivered or authorised by national navies.

  • 02

    Maritime academies

Pre-sea and post-sea training for deck, engine and electro-technical officers and ratings.

  • 03

    Maritime training centres

STCW safety, firefighting, survival and simulator-based courses.

  • 04

    Universities

Degree programmes in marine engineering, naval architecture, logistics and maritime law.

  • 05

    Technical institutions

Electrical, mechanical, welding and electronics trades for maintenance workforces.

  • 06

    Medical training institutions

Clinical training and maritime-medicine specialisation for doctors, nurses and paramedics.

  • 07

    Engineering institutes

Specialist engineering, alternative-fuel systems and digital-ship competences.

  • 08

    Government-authorised providers

Any provider approved by the competent authority for a programme’s specific requirements.

02 — Partner criteria

What a partner must demonstrate

These criteria are verified before any institution is proposed to a government, and reviewed with every cohort.

Authorisation
Current approval or accreditation from the competent maritime, education or defence authority.
Standards alignment
Curricula mapped to recognised standards, such as STCW competences where applicable.
Assessment integrity
Independent, documented assessment and certificate issuance with verifiable records.
Capacity
Instructors, simulators, facilities and sea-time arrangements sufficient for the cohort size proposed.
Welfare
Safe accommodation, fair treatment and accessible grievance channels for trainees.
Data handling
Ability to protect trainee records and share them only through authorised channels.

03 — Onboarding

From interest to delivery

  1. 01

    Expression of interest

The institution shares its authorisations, programmes and capacity.

  2. 02

    Due diligence

Verification of accreditation, facilities, assessment practice and track record.

  3. 03

    Government confirmation

The programme’s government confirms the institution is acceptable for its requirement.

  4. 04

    Agreement

Scope, standards, data-sharing, welfare and quality obligations agreed in writing.

  5. 05

    Delivery

Training delivered, progress and certification recorded on the platform.

  6. 06

    Quality review

Outcome data, trainee feedback and audits reviewed each cohort.
